COAT OF ARMS |
|||
The village coat of arms with its distinctive shield originated from that of the Faugères family. The d’Hozier handwritten record of coats of arms dating from 1697 – 1704 describes it as follows : "green, with a central piece in diamond shapes of gold and red" Given that the Faugères family coat of arms is…. "black, with a central piece in diamond shapes of silver and red", that of Ceilhes is "green, with a central piece in diamond shapes of silver and red" and that of Dio is "green, with a central piece in diamond shapes of gold and blue"….
It is apparent that their
respective differences are only those of colour. |
